The APC Screening Committee has disqualified former National Secretary Iyiola Omisore and six other aspirants from the Osun governorship primary scheduled for December 13, citing gaps and irregularities in their nomination documents. The report submitted to the National Working Committee said only Mulikat Abiola Jimoh and Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji met all requirements, including sponsorship by five financially up-to-date party members from each local government area, as required by the APC Constitution and guidelines.
The committee noted petitions against the cleared aspirants but found they complied fully with party rules, unlike the seven who failed to meet mandatory nomination standards. It recommended immediate reconciliation to address lingering divisions within the Osun APC and ensure a credible primary ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election. “This methodology ensured a transparent, fair, and objective evaluation process,” the report stated.
