“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to not betray Madrid with any other club and to go to the national team with the most history, the five-time champions.”
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he does not wish to coach another club after leaving the Spanish giants this summer to take charge of Brazil.
“I don’t feel like coaching another club, or I didn’t, after Madrid. That’s what I’ve said and I maintain,” Ancelotti told reporters. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to not betray Madrid with any other club and to go to the national team with the most history, the five-time champions.”
The Italian’s departure ends a glittering second stint in Madrid, where he won three Champions League titles among 13 trophies.
Ancelotti also reflected on his emotional farewell alongside Luka Modric, who will play his final game for the club today. “It will be nice and I share it with Modric… someone fantastic, a legend,” he said.
While Xabi Alonso is widely tipped as his successor, Ancelotti offered no advice: “Let him enjoy Madrid… I wish him all the luck in the world.”
