Dr. Salma Anas, Special Adviser to the President on Health, warned Nigeria can no longer rely on foreign donors for its healthcare system. She cited declining aid and donor fatigue as threats to essential health services.
Anas urged state governors to increase domestic financing and meet the Abuja Declaration’s 15 percent budget allocation target. She also detailed government initiatives to expand health insurance and the Basic Health Care Provision Fund.
