The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has firmly dismissed rumours suggesting a tussle for supremacy among Yoruba monarchs, urging the public to remain united. He stated: “I’m not in supremacy battle with any monarch.”
Highlighting the unhelpful nature of such speculation, Oba Owoade admonished well-meaning citizens to ignore reports aimed at inciting conflict.
The monarch reiterated his commitment to peaceful coexistence and collaboration with his peers, stressing that any perception of rivalry is fuelled by uninformed commentary.
