Actor and skit maker Ijoba Lande has accused Lagos police of assault and theft following his return from the UK, allegations the police have yet to address.
Nollywood actor and skit maker Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has accused police officers in Lagos of stealing his iPhone 16 Pro Max and brutalising him shortly after returning from the United Kingdom. The allegation was made in a video posted on Instagram on Friday, which he said occurred six days after his arrival in Nigeria.
“I came back from the UK six days ago and was attacked and beaten by police in Nigeria. They collected my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” he wrote. The video showed him bleeding and crying, with voices referencing Area J Police Station. The Lagos police command did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
