Activists, who participated in the arrest and subsequent prosecution of a Lagos State-based medical doctor, Femi Olaleye in Nigeria have hailed the United Kingdom over his arraignment and remand in prison.
The activists also hailed Justice Rahman Oshodi for the judgment delivered in October 2023, whereby he sentenced the doctor to life imprisonment for sexual offences.
This was before the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division acquitted him on technical grounds.
Reacting to the Friday arraignment of Dr Olaleye in the United Kingdom, the activists described it as a vindication of their stand on the crimes allegedly perpetrated by Dr Olaleye and hailed the Kent Police for the arrest and subsequent arraignment.
