Gov Otti activates strategy to free Nnamdi Kanu…

Following the Federal High Court in Abuja sentencing IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment for terrorism and related charges, Abia State Governor Alex Otti announced he has “activated” an “agreed strategy” to secure Kanu’s release, a plan he began working on during the trial.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has confirmed that he is actively working to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the convicted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), despite the Federal High Court in Abuja recently sentencing Kanu to life imprisonment on multiple terrorism counts. The court, presided over by Justice James Omotosho, found Kanu guilty of charges including inciting violence, belonging to a proscribed organization, and threatening Nigerian and foreign targets.

In response to the conviction, Otti stated that the plan to secure Kanu’s freedom was first initiated during the IPOB leader’s trial. He further revealed that he has “activated, and will continue to implement, the agreed strategy” and has briefed key national authorities on the details of the agreements reached during his recent visit to Kanu while he was in custody.
