A mother says a good Samaritan saved her daughter’s life after she fell 15 feet into an Arkansas waterfall.
A 3-year-old girl survived a terrifying fall into a waterfall in Arkansas thanks to the quick actions of a good Samaritan, her mother said. Kiya Livingston and her daughter, Melody, were visiting the Tanyard Creek Nature Trail in Bella Vista on May 20 when the child fell nearly 15 feet into the water.
“She was over the waterfall… I had to get out of the water and try to run… to catch her,” Livingston told KHBS. As she and her sister rushed downstream, a man had already jumped in and rescued Melody. “She didn’t end up having to get CPR,” Livingston told KFSM. “She was thankfully fully wedged between a rock… where he was able to scoop her up.”
Melody only sustained minor scratches, which doctors called miraculous. “I couldn’t have lost her,” Livingston said. “She fought… thank you for fighting to be with me.” She also praised the rescuer: “He saved my daughter’s life… if we can just say, thank you.”
