A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Aisha Yesufu, has cautioned the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, against accepting a vice-presidential position in the 2027 general election. In a video circulating on social media, the socio-political activist said she would actively oppose any presidential ticket that features Obi as a running mate.
Yesufu described the former Anambra State governor as the best among the likely aspirants and insisted he should be the presidential candidate, not a deputy. She vowed to work against any ticket that positions Obi as vice-president, stating that even if she does not support another candidate, she would not back such an arrangement, questioning why the most qualified individual is often asked to play a secondary role.
