Yunusa Tanko says Atiku Abubakar could choose to support Peter Obi for the ADC’s 2027 presidential ticket, as the party warns against internal divisions ahead of its primaries.
National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko Yakasai, has said former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar could support and “anoint” Peter Obi to emerge as the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate in the 2027 election. He spoke on TVC’s Politics On Sunday amid debates over the ADC ticket and opposition alignments.
Dismissing claims that Atiku could block Obi, Yakasai said, “Atiku Abubakar is a leader, he is a father.” He added that Atiku had the right to contest or support another candidate. Meanwhile, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, urged members to avoid divisive rhetoric ahead of the party’s June primary.
