The NFF says it is confident in its petition against DR Congo over alleged ineligible players and is awaiting FIFA’s ruling.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it is awaiting FIFA’s decision on its petition against the Democratic Republic of Congo over the alleged use of ineligible players during the 2026 World Cup play-off final. DR Congo defeated Nigeria on penalties in the match played last November.
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, told Brila FM, “We don’t venture into what we know is an exercise in futility. As far as we are concerned we have a good case and we are waiting for what FIFA will say as regards to the complaints we have logged.”
